Standardisation is one of three Pillars of our Golden Triangle of KAIZEN Concept that we have defined for ourselves. The other two Pillars are, Quality Control Circles (QCC) or Gemba KAIZEN and Total Quality Management (TQM). Standardisation is the process of developing and implementing standards.
Standardisation is the best, safest, and easiest way to achieve and maintain a defined quality level. Standardised work is an agreed-upon set of work procedures that establishes the best method and sequence for each process to deliver an output.
Benefits of Standardisation.
- Eliminates waste that comes about by try and error.
- Minimises variations in work procedures.
- Establishes the “best” practices to maintain quality.
- Ensure safety.
- Help workers to meet customer demand.
Standards can help organisations reduce time, effort, and money. It can help to assess the processes, allowing organisations to take steps to increase efficiency and become more profitable. It can help to provide a reliable benchmark against which performance can be assessed. Standardisation provides a solid foundation upon which to develop new technologies and to enhance existing practices. Standards help to Open up market access, provide economies of scale, encourage innovation, and increase awareness of developments and initiatives.
